We offer some of the best Pickleball play in Kent.
A friendly, yet highly competitive club with Members ranging in age from 14-74 years old.
We meet as a Club twice per week; Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings; and offer drills and skills practice, and Introduction to Pickleball sessions on Monday evenings.

Thanet Pickleball Club was formally established in July 2016, it was initially set up by Motiv8 Sport in 2014.
With 30+ Members, as well as regular visitors from other Pickleball Clubs we are one of the largest Clubs in the South East of England. Our Club is well organised and we offer our Players "Graded" as well as "Mixed Ability" sessions. Our Players are a warm, friendly and competitive bunch, that regularly take part and medal in Open Tournaments in Europe and the USA. |
We meet at Baypoint Sports Club in Sandwich, where we hire the Sports Hall with four courts marked with NVZ line markings.
In the run up to the Open Tournament in Madrid, we like to practice on outdoor courts, and come the sunshine, we can be found playing at Spencer Square, Ramsgate. Our Members pay an Annual Joining Fee, and benefit from reduced Pay-As-You-Play/Monthly subscriptions fees and reduced private court hire fees at Baypoint Sports Club and Spencer Square Tennis Club. |
We ask our Members to use our attendance app for all of our Club Sessions and Mini Tournaments, and offer places on a first come, first served basis.
We love having visitors from Other Clubs, but we ask that you get in touch first to let us know of your visit. We are constantly striving to improve our Pickleball and we aim to develop our Club, by spreading the Pickleball love, reaching a wider audience in our local community and also asserting our small Club on the global Pickleball stage. |

When We Play - Our Club Sessions
With three + sessions a week, we are able to offer our Members and Visitors a variety of play.

MONDAYS
19:30-21:30 Introduction to Pickleball and Drills & Skills Development. We teach the basics of Pickleball; rules, tactics, court positioning and shot choice; with the aim that new players progress to taking part in our Sunday and Wednesday Club sessions.
Experienced players are encouraged to participate in both developing the skills of new players and practicing drills to improve their own game. |
WEDNESDAYS
18:30-21:30 Wednesday evenings are our most competitive Club session, with players taking part in our Graded "Ladder" Play for an hour and a half; after an half hour warm up; followed by an hour of "Mixed Ability" play.
Scores from the "Ladder" are inputted into our Rankings system which is published quarterly - just to spur our players on a bit. |
SUNDAYS
10:00-13:00 "Mixed Ability" play for two hours on regular Sunday sessions, followed by an hour of arranged games. The reverse of Wednesday sessions, Sundays are generally more relaxed.
We hold a "Pick-A-Partner" Friendly Tournament on the 2nd Sunday of the Month, and a "Names-From-A-Hat" Friendly Tournament on the last Sunday of the Month, just to keep things interesting :) |

SUNDAYS Looking for some pre Open Tournament practice with your partner? Our "Pick-A-Partner Sundays" are an ideal time to visit, when you can take part in our Friendly Round Robin format Tournament; just for fun, no prizes; you can be assured of some competitive games.

NAMES-FROM-THE-HAT
SUNDAYS The last Sunday of each calendar month, this fun, friendly Tournament gives players of all age ranges and skill levels the chance to take part in a Round Robin format event.
Again no prizes; fun on court guaranteed. |
CLUB
SESSIONS Visitors and Guests are welcome to attend our Club sessions, we do have limited court space; and our Members love their Ladder Play; thus please give us fair warning if you would like to pay us a visit (we will always try to squeeze you in).
