Where We Play
Baypoint is our main venue and we play the majority of our sessions there. It is a large, privately-owned sports club (formerly the Pfizer's sports club) and has full facilities for many indoor and outdoor sports. It also has a full bar and kitchen.
Directions:
From the A256 heading towards Sandwich take the 1st turn off of the Ebbsfleet roundabout and then a sharp right turn.
From the A256 heading towards Ramsgate take the 2nd turn of of the Ebbsfleet roundabout and then a sharp right turn.
From Sandwich Road turn left just before the Ebbsfleet roundabout.
You are effectively driving in behind the Subway store and Richborough Esso garage.
If you pass these stores you are on the wrong route.

Spencer Square Tennis and Pickleball Courts

The tennis courts at Spencer Square are leased from the Council and are run by Caroline who is a friend of Thanet Pickleball Club. We play there on Sundays in the Summer if Baypoint is not available and have held several tournaments there. The centre has snack and tea facilities and is very hospitable. It is an outdoor venue.

BROADSTAIRS MEMORIAL RECREATION GROUND

The pickleball courts at Broadstairs Memorial Recreation Ground (The Rec) were laid out for us by the Council. There are eight outdoor courts in a dedicated enclosure. They are free to use and you will need to bring all of your own equipment. Sometimes the courts need a sweep before you play. They are located next to the bowling club and tennis courts vey close to the train station (public toilets). We use them occasionally in the summer - particularly if we are practicing for an outdoor tournament. They were heavily used during the Spring/Summer of 2020 when all indoor sports halls were closed.
Directions:
From the A256/A255 junction roundabout coming from Westwood Cross.
Take he third exit onto Broadstairs Rd/A255
Continue for 0.9 miles and turn sharp left by train station onto Lloyd Road.
Memorial Rec is 200 yards along on left.
Best to park in the nearby residential streets - try Masons Rise and walk through the lane.
